Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II - NDT - UT
The Ultrasonic Testing Level II course is designed to build on the foundational knowledge of Level I and prepare participants for inspection tasks using ultrasonic waves. This method is widely used for detecting internal flaws in metals, welds, and composites.
Participants will learn:
The physics of sound wave propagation in materials, including how waves reflect, refract, and attenuate.
How to calibrate ultrasonic equipment using standard blocks and reference materials.
Techniques for angle beam inspection, especially for welds and complex geometries.
How to interpret A-scan signals, identify relevant indications, and distinguish them from noise or irrelevant signals.
The use of contact and immersion techniques, including couplant selection and transducer positioning.
